Preregistration for Girls on the Run 5k now open
ALPENA, Mich. — Girls on the Run is doing their best inspiring girls to live healthy lives and to walk in confidence. As a reward to the girls completing the program, the public is invited to run in the Sunrise Side Color Me Awesome 5k. The event kicks of April 24.
It is a non–competitive and unlimited time race. Preregistration is open now with the District Health Department in Alpena. Proceeds of the event benefits the Girls on the Run Scholarship Fund.
If you’re ready to kick–up a sweat, meet at the Lakeside Park in Rogers City at 10 a.m. later this spring. The council director says the program wouldn’t be possible without help from the community.
