Power still being restored after Saturday’s storm
ALPENA, Mich. – Saturday’s storm packed a heavy punch over our viewing area even causing damage to area power lines. According to WBKB’s meteorologist Ellie Morrison, about 13 inches of snow hit Alpena. Crews with Alpena Power Company were out working hard since Sunday to restore power to parts of Alpena, Hubbard Lake, Ossineke and other surrounding areas. The power company took to its face book page Sunday explaining the cause of the outages. Presque Isle Electric and Gas Co–Op also saw outages. The company provided customers with an updated outage map with QuickTime restoration updates. Both Alpena and PG&E are continuing to work to restore power to all areas affected. A representative from Alpena Power said anyone still without power should consider relocating if their heating is dependent on electric power.
