Police locate Gaylord hit and run suspect

ALPENA, MICH — A suspect who fled an accident scene in Gaylord has been caught by police.

On June 20, a trooper from the Michigan State Police Gaylord post responded to a call that a vehicle had crashed into a fence at the Gaylord Regional Airport. The SUV fled from the area and was later found in the parking lot of a nearby establishment.

A canine team tracked 32-year–old Bryan Morgan of Gaylord to a patch of pine trees not far from I–75. He was actively inhaling chemicals from an aerosol can when police arrived. One passenger was also located and later released. Morgan was charged with OWI, failure to report a crash, and prohibited use of chemical agents. He was issued a $20,000 bond.
