Police disclose warning signs during teen dating violence awareness month
Police are informing people that teen dating violence can take on many forms between unmarried couples in a relationship. This includes sexual, verbal, emotional, and financial abuse.
Warning signs that may be present in violent relationships can include problems with anger or jealousy, unpredictable mood swings, isolation from family and friends, and assertion of control.
Teen dating violence can affect males and females.
Teens who find themselves in violent relationships should confide in a trustworthy adult, or call the National Teen Dating Abuse Hotline, at (866)331–9474.
