Police arrest suspect in home invasion
ALPENA, Mich. — Police have arrested a suspect with ties to the armed home invasion in Alpena.
Allan Jerome Hughes, 28, of Wyoming, Michigan was arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona after a weeklong search.
The home invasion happened on April 27, when Hughes and a second man broke into a home on Second Avenue and demanded valuables. When the victims did not comply, the suspects beat the male victim with a hand-gun.
Hughes was charged with the following.
Count 1: Robbery – Armed – Serious Injury
Count 2: Home Invasion – 1st Degree
Count 3: Unlawful Imprisonment
Count 4: Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault)
Count 5: Weapons – Dangerous Weapon – Carry with Unlawful Intent
Count 6: Weapons – Firearms – Possession by Felon
Count 7: Weapons – Felony Firearm
The investigation is ongoing and police are searching for the second man.
