Plant trees at Vogler Conservation Area

ROGERS CITY, Mich. –

If you’re looking to help beautify parts of Rogers City you’ll have an opportunity to plant trees

Huron Pines is partnering with the Presque Isle Conservation District for a volunteer tree–planting event.

Participants will help plant trees at Herman Vogler Conservation Area in Rogers City.

The planting event is set for Saturday May 1st, from 10 a.m. until noon.

The first 20 people to RSVP will leave with a complimentary tree they can plant
at home.

Conservation staff say it’s the prefect event to attend as the weather breaks and covid restrictions are loosening.

“It’s an easily social distanced event, we’ll be outside, spaced apart in the woods so there’ll be no real risk of transmission, so people can be safe while still enjoying the community event and getting excited about something as fun and simple as tree planting,” said District Forester Brittany VanderWall.

The conservation center will have hand sanitizer and disposable masks available on site. Participants should bring their own
refillable water bottles.

Huron Pines will have some extra gloves and hand tools, but encourage
participants to bring their own if possible.

VanderWall said space is limited so those interested should register soon. You can register here or contact Huron Pines at 989-448-2293
