ALPENA, Mich.– 16 kittens found their forever homes during “empty the shelter” last week, so we’re focusing on the adults for today’s “Pets of the Week” with Sylvia, Maypo, Adrian, and Éclair.

Meet Sylvia. She’s about two years old. Sylvia came to the humane society as a stray, but has started warming up to people quite well. If she starts nuzzling you, you know you’re on her good list.

She does still have some nerves from her time as a stray. She would prefer being the only animal in the house, and she doesn’t like it when you touch her paws.

Next on the list is Adrian. Adrian’s about a year old and a recent mother. She’s very picky with her toys, but definitely likes scratching boards. She may have special dietary needs, so make sure to ask the humane society if you visit her.

Now, let’s look at Éclair. Éclair is about five months old and very affectionate. She also seems to get along well with kids.

And this boy here is Maypo. Maypo was found wandering the streets last week with a severely injured tail and a bad ear infection. He’s now on the mend and showing off his personality.

He’s a three–year–old cuddlebug who really loves being scratched behind the ears. He’s really mellow, and would love a calm home without energetic kids.

Before we end today, four adult males were found together in a single pet crate on the side of long lake road on the night of October 5. If you have any information about these animals, please call the Huron Humane Society at (989) 356–4794.
