Performance Locker is back at it again with another addition of their Dharma Initiative.
Yoga instructors at Performance Locker held their fourth yoga session this year for charity.
Proceeds at Saturday’s session went to the Hope Shores Alliance organization, which is a women’s shelter.
Instructor, Charise McClendon said yoga for charity started all because of one tragedy…
And helping women is dear to her heart.
“We try to pick things that are close to our hearts, and women you know just caring for those who need help and that’s why we went with a women’s shelter and all of the other organizations as well. Sam and I wanted to go teach a class and give back to the community in some way and it just so happen that tragedy made us kind of brainstorm and that’s how we came up with the dharma initiative and it just blossomed from there. We donate to the same four charities each year so that we can continually give back and like I said spread ourselves too thin and really make a difference,” she said.
This is the second year the Performance Locker has held yoga sessions for charities.
Each session is done quarterly.
The last session benefited the Huron Humane Society.
The other two charities are the Boys and Girls Club and the Thunder Bay Trails Association.
