Owls win first postseason game since 2015

OSCODA, Mich. — When it comes to the postseason in any sport, anything can happen. When the Oscoda girls’ soccer team played Grayling in the regular season, Grayling picked up the victory winning 4-2. The Owls got their revenge, beating the Vikings 3-1 on Wednesday to advance to the district semifinals. For the Owls, it’s their first postseason win since 2015.

“We passed a lot, we shot the ball a lot, and it was a good game, said Madison Allen. “I just hope we can continue the progress that we’re going through right now.”

Allen, Alejandra Alvarez-Benito, and Marley Watson each scored a goal for the Owls. On the other end, Edie Boik ended up with the lonely goal for the Vikings.

Up next, the Owls (2-11-2) will battle Clare (8-5-2) in the district semifinals on Tuesday (June 1) at Ogemaw Heights High School. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
