Operation: Holiday seeks donations for toy drive

ALPENA, Mich.– The Alpena Vietnam Veterans of America is already in high gear for its annual toy drive.

This is the twenty–ninth year of the VVA’S “Operation: Holiday.”

The program provides families in need with Christmas presents for their kids. Each child gets a small, medium, and large present, alongside gloves, a hat, and other items.

This year, VVA President Tammy Kish said they’re in especially need of toys for specific age groups.

Older kids and girls eight to ten years old typically don’t receive as many donations.

Larger gifts, those 20 dollars or more, also tend to get neglected in donations across all age groups for both boys and girls.

Kish said unopened toys and monetary donations are both welcome.

If you’re a parent who needs help from Santa this year, you can reach out to Operation: Holiday at (989) 464–5588.

The application deadline is Wednesday, December 9, at 6:00 P.M.
