POSEN, Mich. — Across the state of Michigan, many schools are not ready to open up their facilities. However, some schools have already begun Phase one, which is strength and conditioning. One of those schools is Posen. Students have been working out at Posen since June 8 and are very happy to be back on the grind.

“It feels good to get back in shape,” said Lucas Stone. “We haven’t been in shape for a little bit. We’ve been eating a lot of junk food and we have to burn that off now.”

Coach Chris Keller and Greg Pietsch said the students weren’t in bad shape, to begin with. Keller says the main purpose of these offseason workouts is to not only get them in shape but to prepare them mentally for what’s ahead.

“We want to develop a mental edge,” said Keller. “Workouts can be hard to get through and we just want them to be mentally prepared.”

Posen plans on running their offseason workouts every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
