Onaway closed Tuesday, Wednesday due to illness

Onaway- Onaway school district had to close Tuesday and will be closed Wednesday due to student illness.

141 students reported in sick on Monday, over 20% of the school district. Had 20 more students been sick, the school would not have been able to count Monday as a school day. Superintendent Rod Fullerton explained that it was a mixture of flu, strep throat, and the common cold.  The reason for a two day closure is to make disinfect the entire school and those students that sick, to recoup and feel better.

Onaway will reopen on Thursday.
