NWEA assessment registration rapidly approaching
ALPENA, Mich. — The NWEA assessment opportunity for Alpena Public School students is rapidly approaching.
The NWEA assessment monitors growth in reading and mathematics of students in grades two through eight. For students in K through one, early literacy skills are measured.
Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, Meaghan Gauthier, said the assessment will help determine where students are in relation to the typical benchmark for their grade level. Gauthier adds that this will help parents better prepare their children to reach determined benchmarks.
The deadline to sign up for the assessment is Friday, October 16.
