ALPENA, Mich. — After a lengthy construction project, Northland Credit Union’s lobby is now open and tellers are ready to assist members. While foot traffic has been good, Branch Manager Jennifer Lipps said she feels the pandemic has some members still a little scared. Lipps adds it is safety first for the credit union.
Northland’s opening was right on time with the February 1 date but would have opened earlier had it not been for COVID-19.
Northland is taking precautions like other establishments but according to Marketing Director Matt Duthler , they are taking things a step further. Duthler said if you need loan processing or wanting to become a new member, you must call ahead for an appointment. For basic transactions you can just visit the lobby.
The credit union’s official grand opening will be this summer and they plan to celebrate with local businesses and non profits.
