ALPENA, Mich –The Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center is gearing up for their upcoming Northern Strike fires exercise held annually
The training center participates in the largest annual joint exercise with the Department of Defense.
Participants for Northern Strike are largely from reserve components and come from all over the U.S. and Northern Europe.
According to Maj. Gen. Paul Rogers, there are many steps before getting to the graduate level of training.
Roger’s said Michigan is a unique environment and perfect for training.
He also said this year will be very different because of COVID–19 but they are prepared.
This year’s training is scheduled for July 28 and there is more information to come on specifics for the time and social distancing practices.
