After a brief hiatus due to Covid, the Northern Lights Parade in Oscoda returns for its 16th year.

This years  Christmas extravaganza theme is the “The Magic of the Holidays.” It’s set to bring plenty of holiday cheer to attendees.

Oscoda Chamber Executive Director Nancy Howse said, “We’ve got the Oscoda High-school marching band with us this year,we’ve got a very special guest coming depending on his schedule, that’s just a bit of a teaser for everybody, we’ve also got the Cat in the Hat. ”

Prior to the parade guests can get into the holiday spirit with a variety of pre- parade activities.

“We’ve got hot chocolate we have chili and popcorn served at the Oscoda township fire hall, we’ve got hot cider and doughnuts and the United Methodist Church here in Oscoda is opening the or doors from 4 to 8 and they are going to be doing a Christmas warm up and i here that they’ve been busy baking cookies,”said Howse.

The northern lights parade kicks off Saturday, December 4th at 6pm.
