New Fourth of July Parade Route
ALPENA, Mich. — The 4th of July Parade through Alpena will take a different route this year.
The parade will start at 1 p.m. this year due to religious services because the holiday is on a Sunday. It will kick off at Besser Company on Johnson Street. It will head to Oldfield Street and Ninth Avenue, before following Ninth Ave to Chisolm Street.
The parade will turn from Chisolm onto Second Avenue, and then it will head down Fletcher Street and ending at the parking lot by the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
The deadline to register a float for the parade is next Wednesday.
