Much colder and windy Tuesday

High temperatures today reached 56 degrees in Alpena and 58 in Saginaw. A breeze out of the southwest at 15-20 mph and early-day sunshine helped temperatures get warmer. The warmth will be short lived as a cold front will move through our area tonight.

A cold front moving in from the northwest is bringing rain showers. These showers will possibly change to flurries as temperatures drop overnight. A few patchy flurries are possible Tuesday, mixed with breaks of sunshine.

After this cold front moves through our area, winds will get stronger. Winds out of the northwest will pick up to about 25 mph, and help bring much colder air.

Low temperatures overnight will drop to about 26 degrees, and showers will change to flurries as the temperatures get below freezing. Morning temperatures will be in the upper 20s, and afternoon highs will reach only the middle 30s. Winds will come from the northwest, about 25 mph. The evening will be partly cloudy with temperatures in the middle to upper 20s.

Tuesday will be much colder and windy, highs will be in the middle 30s. Wednesday will start dry, then showers will be possible late-day. Highs on Wednesday will get to the lower 40s.
