MNRTF Recommends Grants for State, Projects Around NE Michigan

Michigan- The Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund has made it’s recommendations for spending grant money in 2018.

$40.3 million dollars will be used to acquire land and support a variety of outdoor recreation improvements. Two projects in Northeast Michigan have been selected. The Michigan DNR plans to acquire 80 acres of land in Mountmorency County which is currently known as Lyon’s Landing. The plan is to put a public access site and a boat launch on the West side of Fletcher’s Flood Water. $108,700 will be used to improve Alcona Township Park. A boat/kayak launch would be installed along with a fishing platform and handicap accessible parking.

The board’s recommendation goes to the state legislature for review and then the governors desk for a signature.
