Mikado man arrested for filing false report, lying to police

ALCONA COUNTY, MI.  — Michigan State Police said in late October 2020, a trooper from the (MSP) Alpena Post was dispatched to a residence on Condon Road in Millen Township to take a report of a stolen vehicle. During the investigation 42-year-old Jeremy Alan Lee of Mikado alleged his former girlfriend had stolen his 2003 Dodge pickup truck. The trooper located the truck at the former girlfriend’s residence. She claimed she purchased the vehicle and Lee had titled it in his name without her permission. The vehicle was to be titled in both their names.

On December 2, 2020, a report was received from a Michigan Department of State Investigator indicating he conducted an investigation that alleges Lee fraudulently titled the truck in his name and crossed his then girlfriend’s name off the title. The trooper followed up on this information and submitted a report to the Alcona County Prosecutor’s Office for review. An arrest warrant was authorized for Lee and he turned himself in at the Alcona County Sheriff’s Office.

Lee was arraigned on December 9, 2020 in the 81st District Court in Alcona County for one count False Report of a Felony and one count Lying to Police Officer. He was released on a $15,000 PR bond. His next scheduled court appearance is on December 30, 2020
