MidMichigan welcomes first baby of 2021
ALPENA, Mich. — MidMichigan Medical Center Alpena welcomes the first baby of 2021. Proud parents Alyssa and Steven Budnick of Hawks welcome their baby boy Jaxson Dean Budnik. Jaxson was born at 1:27 a.m. on January 4 and took approximately 17 hours to get here. He weighed 5 pounds and 15 ounces.
Alyssa shared that this is her second baby to be the first born in the new year. Her daughter Arianna, almost six, was the first baby born in Presque Isle County in 2015. Alssya was overwhelmed with emotion as Jaxson’s birth also fell on the same day as her deceased great grandmother.
She said giving birth this time was challenging because of the COVID restrictions at the hospital.
The Women’s Health Unit employees at MidMichigan gifted Jaxson a diaper cake, bath tub and several outfits.
Jaxson is the youngest of six and dad said they welcome another seat at the table.
