MidMichigan surgeon trades in scrubs for retirement
ALPENA, Mich. — After 26 years working as an orthopedic surgeon at MidMichigan Medical Center, Dr. Eric Cornish has decided to turn in his scrubs for retirement.
Prior to relocating to Alpena, Dr. Cornish shared that he worked for a top hundred hospital in the country where it was easy to feel anonymous.
His experience in Alpena has been just the opposite which was the positive for him.
Dr. Cornish says he’ll miss the social aspect of working but he shared what was most gratifying.
With his extra time, Dr. Cornish is now planning to do medical research for hip and knee replacement.
Also included in his plans are travel with his wife, sailing with friends, and lots of walks and playtime with his dog Finn.
