Midmichigan organization offers digital Arbor Day lessons

CHARLOTTE, Mich.– A Central Michigan organization is offering a statewide educational opportunity.

Third and fourth grade teachers across Michigan can sign up for a Zoom–based presentation from the Michigan Arbor Day Alliance.

The MADA teamed up with expert arborists and researchers to teach kids about tree biology and their part in the environment.

Program coordinator Hannah Reynolds said she hopes kids will gain a better understanding of the roles trees play in our world.

Normally, the MADA hosts these presentations for schools in their hometown of Charlotte.

However, they decided to take advantage of digital learning this year to better spread the message.

Interested teachers can sign up on the MADA’s website.

Lessons run through the month of April with a limited number of participants.
