Michigan’s 16 electors cast votes for President-elect Joe Biden

LANSING, Mich. — Delegates to Michigan’s Electoral College met Monday, Dec. 14 to officially cast their votes for President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, despite credible threats of violence forcing closure to all capitol buildings.

Efforts from Republican lawmakers across the country looked to stop Michigan and other states from casting their Electoral votes due to their claim of election irregularities.

An amicus brief from Texas was recently dismissed by the Supreme Court.  Despite these efforts, delegates met today in a closed Capitol to cast their votes.

Joe Biden will be inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States on January 20.
