ALPENA, Mich -In a press release last week Attorney General, Dana Nessel, said, “This public emergency is not an excuse to rip people off.”
Since early March Nessel’s office has received more than 4,200 complaints about business and individuals price–gouging consumers.
A.M. Cleaning Supplies in Ann Arbor has been under investigation for advertising hand sanitizer at $60 for a 12–ounce bottle.
The attorney general’s office recently completed an Assurance of Voluntary compliance which is a tool that helps with resolution of an alleged violation.
AVC’s were also signed for several online sellers operating storefronts through Amazon.
Consumers are encouraged to file a complaint online at Michigan.gov and include as much information as needed for evaluation.
