ALPENA, Mich. — Great news for job seekers as they can apply the tips we provided in yesterday’s newscast for Thursday’s job fair happening in Alpena.
Michigan Works Northeast Consortium is hosting an in–person outdoor career fair. Business Solutions Professional Shelly Blankenship says they are hiring locally for everything from retail to healthcare and manufacturing. Blankenship added that Employment Services Incorporated will be in attendance and looking to fill 50 plus positions.
Blankenship said they have made preparations to adhere to social distancing guidelines and are asking that everyone remember to wear a mask. She also provided tips on proper attire and said not to wear sneakers or flip flops. Blankenship added to remember to silence your cell phones and bring several copies of your resume.
Job seekers are not required to sign up in advance but are required to fill out a registration form upon arrival. The form will be kept on file for 14 days as a safety precaution just in case of a COVID–19 outbreak.
The career fair will be held tomorrow, Thursday September 17, from 3:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pavilion behind city hall.
