Michigan Works is true to its name

ALPENA, Mich. — It’s a story you hear all too often where a student has goals but they’re unable to pursue their dreams because they lack the means to do so.

Michigan Works Tuition Assistance Program came through for one student to help her dreams become a reality.

Jordan Bohl was attending Mid Community College to become a medical assistant but her dream was deferred because of the cost.  She looked into attending Kirtland Community College because it was cheaper and required less time for completion.

Michigan Works Marketing Director Alicia Wallace said it was Bohl’s mother who suggested she look into the different programs Michigan Works had to offer.

Wallace said Bohl received assistance through their program and added she is continuing her education as she is currently in Georgia obtaining her microblading certification.
