ALPENA, Mich –With many jurisdictions seeing a spike in speeding motorists, Michigan State Police is participating in Operation Safe Driver week.
This initiative is being sponsored by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance in partnership with government, industry and safety organizations.
the MSP commercial vehicle enforcement division will be participating in increased traffic enforcement directed toward unsafe driving behaviors.
MSP Lieutenant Steven Horwood said there have been significant changes in driving patterns resulting from COVID–19 restrictions.
In a press release Horwood said the focus of this program is to move Michigan toward zero deaths.
Operation Safe Driver week will begin this Sunday July 12, and run through July 18th.
