The Michigan State Police is warning residents and visitors to be extra careful when going out in the extreme cold. Temperatures are expected to impact the entire state falling below zero at times.
Exposure to these temperatures could potentially cause frostbite and hypothermia, as well as create dangerous driving conditions. MSP says stay indoors if possible, and check heating units. If you must go outside, wear protective gear.
Check on family, friends and neighbors who are at risk and may need additional assistance. Watch pets closely and keep them indoors. If you’re traveling keep a full tank of gas and an emergency kit in your vehicle.
