Michigan Native’s Life Forever Changed Due to ‘Distracted Driving’
April is ‘Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and to remind folks of the dangers, the Michigan State Police is sharing the story of one Michigan driver whose life was forever changed by a text. This year’s theme is: ‘You Drive, You Text, You Pay.’
According to the Michigan State Police there were 12,788 crashes in the state during 2016. Cell phones were involved in 1, 912 crashes, leading to 9 deaths and 840 injuries.
Michigan law prohibits a driver from reading, typing, or sending a text message while driving.
