Michigan is 7th highest state for human trafficking

Women at Risk is coming to Alpena to educate members of the community on sex and labor trafficking April 13th and 14th. Watch the video on how human trafficking affects Michigan residents and check below for further event details and ways to register.

Day 1 Session 1

Friday, April 13th 7 PM-9 PM at Thunder Bay Jr. High

“Warning Lights– Personal Saefty and Human Trafficking Awareness”

  • Free program for students and parents. Not suitable for children under 12.
  • Focuses on safety tactics and how to help others not become victims.

Day 1 Session 2

Friday, April 13th 7 PM-9PM at New Life Christian Fellowship

“Anti-human Trafficking Training for Professionals”

  • Suitable for medical personnel, mental health/substance-use therapists, cases managers and social workers.
  • Professionals will learn how identify health concerns and symptoms, as well as create recovery plans for victims.

Day 2 Session 1

Saturday, April 14th 9 Am-4:30 PM at New Life Christian Fellowship

“Civilian First Responder (CFR) Training by War International (Women at Risk)”

  • Focuses on recognizing the signs of trafficking and responding appropriately.
  • Not suitable for children under 12.
