MI GOP calls for more fans at Tiger’s games
DETROIT, Mich. — State Republicans gathered outside of Comerica Park today calling on Governor Whitmer to increase capacity limits at Detroit Tiger’s games.
Currently, 1,000 fans will be allowed at Opening Day on April 1- 2.4 percent of the over 41,000 that would normally be allowed.
The lawmakers used Florida as a comparison; the state currently allows 2,000 fans in stadiums of 8,500 for Spring Training.
The Tigers released a statement saying they have been working closely with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and hope to have an announcement coming soon.
