EAST LANSING, Mich. — Wednesday, the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) announced that a limited number of spectators will be permitted for volleyball and football tournaments. The MHSAA received approval from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
Football teams will receive 125 tickets, while volleyball will receive 50 tickets. The tickets will be divided among game participants by immediate family members. Spectators in different households must be spaced out by six feet and maintain distancing at all other times including arrival and departure from the game facility. Also, they must wear face masks at all times.
Joe Smokevitch and the Johannesburg-Lewiston Cardinals (9-0) football team will head to the Superior Dome this Saturday to take on Iron Mountain (7-2) in a regional match. However, Northern Michigan University recently announced that no spectators will be allowed to attend.
