Man dies from snowmobile accident in Cheboygan County

Beaugrand Township, Mich. — a 38-year-old-man passed away from a snowmobile accident on Friday.
Adam Fortuna of China, Michigan died yesterday after his snowmobile left the trail. Fortuna may have purposely left his sled early after it veered off trail. Adam and friends were traveling on Trail 9 near Nipigon Rd.
He was discovered near a tree that he appeared to have struck. His sled was found 50 feet further down the trail, crashed in some trees. Life saving efforts were conducted on the scene but it was unsuccessful.
Speed was a factor. The accident is under investigation.
