On Tuesday the Montmorency County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 32–year old Hillman man after an attempted burglary.
According to the sheriff’s office they were alerted to the break in at Hillman Pharmacy around 3 A.M. Tuesday.
After arriving on scene deputies found significant damage to the back door and began a search of the area.
Deputies discovered a suspicious vehicle and followed it to M–32, before a chase occurred with speeds reaching over 100 miles per hour.
The suspect was eventually stopped in Rust Township and arrested on a charge of possession of burglary tools.
He was taken to the Montmorency County Jail where he admitted to the crime.
The man was then charged with breaking and entering, malicious destruction of property and reckless driving – The case remains open at this time.
