Mainly dry Tuesday, then cooler midweek ahead

An area of low pressure near Duluth will be sluggish to leave the Great Lakes region. This will keep showery weather in the forecast through Wednesday. Tuesday should turn out largely dry except for a chance of isolated showers in the afternoon. Wednesday has a broader chance of scattered showers.

High temperatures Monday were coolest close to Lake Huron with a light breeze out of the east, coming off of the chilly lake waters. The high reached only 49 degrees in Alpena. Elsewhere, high temperatures got up to 52 degrees in Cheboygan, Michigan and 62 degrees in Saginaw, Michigan. Temperatures will likely get a few degrees warmer Tuesday, before cooler temperatures arrive midweek.

Temperatures will rise to the upper 50s Tuesday afternoon. Then winds out of the north-northwest will bring colder temperatures on Wednesday with highs in the middle to upper 40s. Thursday, temperatures will climb to the lower 50s. Temperatures will go on a warming trend late-week, reaching the middle 50s Friday and upper 50s by Saturday.

Tuesday: Cloudy, isolated showers possible in the afternoon. Predawn lows will be near 50 degrees. Temperatures will rise to the lower 50s during the late-morning. Afternoon highs will get up to around 57 degrees. Evening temperatures will head to the 40s.

Wednesday: Scattered showers, cooler. Early-morning temperatures will drop to the middle 30s. Afternoon highs will be close to 46 degrees. By the late-evening, temperatures will cool to the 30s.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy. Early-morning temperatures will begin in the middle 30s. Midday temperatures will rise to the lower/middle 40s. Highs will reach about 51 degrees in the late-afternoon. Evening temperatures will dip to the 40s.
