Local salt spa suggests halotherapy for COVID-19 recovery

ALPENA, Mich. — With COVID–19 cases continuing to climb, a local salt spa offers a new type of therapy that can help with recovery.

Owner of Alpena Salt Spa, Lisa Parlberg, recommends halotherapy.  She said the therapy consists of clients breathing in Himalayan salts milled into fine dust.  Parlberg urges people to continue taking their medication but she believes this treatment helps those recovering from COVID–19 recover faster.

Parlberg has a salt booth and separate room which has approximately six tons of salt in it.  She says the Himalayan salt is anti microbial which means no bacteria will ever grow in it.

Parlberg adds that clients have come back and told her that they noticed a difference and were breathing easier.
