A dedication ceremony was held earlier today to honor a man who has decided to open his doors as a gift to help continue education in Alpena. Mr. Edward Grezlak was recognized for his kindness by the MidMichigan Health Foundation with a plaque that sits along side his fence.
Grezlak’s home was built back in 2014 on the former grounds of Alpena High School and Thunder Bay Junior High School. Grezlak attended the one room school back in 1938.
To remember his sister who was an elementary teacher for over 42 years, Grezlak said gifting his house to continue education for future medical students and doctors was an easy decision.
Grezlak said all he want’s to do is help people in the community get well.
