Local home lights up for Halloween

ALPENA, Mich. — There’s less than two weeks until Halloween, which means it’s time for an evening drive down Washington Avenue.

Starting at 6 PM every night, you can pull up near the intersection of Washington and Tawas to get a look at Kevin Wheeler’s spook–tacular light show. Composed of more than 4,000 lights, his display blinks and flashes in time with Halloween hits like “The Monster Mash” and “Ghostbusters.”

Wheeler said between trick–or–treaters and spectators, he sees over a hundred visitors on Halloween night.

While it takes over a week of work to prepare, he said the reception is worth it.

“My favorite part of the display is looking out the window once in a while and seeing people parked on the street enjoying the show.”
