Alpena- A group of animal enthusiasts have come together and now have their eyes set on constructing an Animal Facility.
The group has a few reasons for starting this new animal complex. They want to help decrease Alpena’s homeless pet population. ACAF has a goal of becoming an educator to the community when it comes to volunteering, training, caring, and fostering animals. The plan includes a full time Animal Control Officer that will be able to treat all different types of animals. Articles of Incorporation have been filed and accepted. The group has filed to become a 501c3 organization. Once the status has been approved, the group will then look to raise $500,000 to cover building costs and year one of operations.
With the process just beginning for this brand new organization, they hope to break ground on a site in a year. Overall, improving the lives of animals and teaching responsible ownership is what ACAF will focus on practicing when fully operational.
