ALPENA, Mich. –United Way of Northeast Michigan has announced that Alcona and Montmorency counties have been awarded funds to support their emergency food and shelter program.
The money will be allocated to fund existing programs in compliance with EFSP.
Alcona county received a little over $7,000 and Montmorency over $9,000.
Executive Eirector, Joe Gentry was excited about the funding and explained who is eligible.
Gentry said assistance is just a phone call away by dialing 211 which is supported in all three counties by United Way.
Gentry also added that applications are due by August 27 for Alcona and Montmorency county for non-profit agencies providing services.
