Local Artist’s Drawing Accepted Into International Exhibition
"Cascading Water XV" continues to bring home awards and receive recognition.
Alpena — Artist Erv Lewandowski continues to dazzle with his colored pencils.
The esteemed artist had his piece “Cascading Water XV’ accepted into the International Guild of Realism’s 13th Annual Juried Exhibition in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The event features some of the top work from pastel, charcoal, graphite, water color, and colored pencil artists in the world.
Each art piece that is entered into the competition is judged by two different juries, raising the stakes for each artist that submits. Lewandowski knew his piece was special, but now he is sure of it.
“The Chicago experience came around and they selected it and then I knew we had a piece that was sort of special,” said Lewandowski. “You wait for those. They don’t come everyday and then when you go to submit to the big one, the guild of realism show, which to me is one of the top shows that I can get involved in, and when they selected it, I knew I’ve got a winner.”
The exhibition will run from October 5th through the 29th at the Sugarman-Peterson Gallery in Santa Fe.
