ALPENA, MICH — If you want to support the Special Olympics but missed out on the Polar Plunge this year, it’s not too late. The Michigan State Police Alpena post is holding its annual Torch Run this Monday, September 9th.
There are two main goals associated with the run: to raise money and create awareness for Special Olympics competitors. There is a 25 dollar registration fee, but participants can raise as much as they like.
The run will start on Chisholm St. and proceed down State St. to the north side fire department.
