Alpena, Mich. — the work of playwright Neil Simon will come to life one last time here on the Sunrise Side.

This is the last weekend to catch the play “Rumors” over at the Alpena Civic Theatre. Cast and crew bring to life the story of a 10th anniversary party for the deputy mayor of New York which goes horribly wrong. Couples try to piece together what’s happening. This witty comedy is sure to have the audience laughing up a storm.

“It pretty much hits the ground running from the very beginning and really doesn’t slow down,” said Director Bill Powell. “They [the actors] really don’t get much of chance to take breath and neither does the audience. I’ve been in the audience at all of the shows and there is a lot of laughter going on, and everyone that I’ve spoken to after the show has thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”

Catch the show tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. or stop in for the Sunday matinee at two. The play does have some choice language and is advised for children 16 and up. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students. For more information, visit the Alpena Civic Theatre website at http://www.alpenacivictheater.com/

Auditions for the civic theatre’s next performance “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” takes place March 19 and 20 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at the Alpena Civic Theatre. For more information, call Pat Jacques 356-9225.
