Kellstrom, Langley and Owls are hungry for more

OSCODA, Mich. — Big things are expected for the Oscoda Owls girls basketball team. Last year, the Owls put together their best season in program history as they won 22 consecutive games. This season, the expectations are very high for the Owls, as they look to make a deeper run in the postseason.

“We definitely want to repeat as district champions,” said Lauren Langley. “We got a little taste of regionals, so we’re looking to make it to the next level.”

The Owls are bringing back a ton of players which includes Langley, Izzy Hulverson and Macy Kellstrom. All three are capable of knocking down the three-point jumper. Oscoda recorded 100 triples last season and they look to continue that dominance from beyond the arc.

Oscoda’s next game is on Dec. 9, as they will go up against the Wolverines of Au Gres-Sims. The opening tip is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
