Jackson Hewitt offers tax discount for UI benefit recipients
ALPENA, Mich. — As we enter tax season, those that filed for unemployment benefits in 2020 can feel at ease as tax preparer Jackson Hewitt is offering discounted do–it–yourself tax prep and filing.
Jackson Hewitt currently offers a 5 dollar discount for those that collected UI benefits in 2020. According to Chief Tax Officer Mark Steber, they have long serviced the hardest working and feel a commitment to them during such a challenging time. Steber said they recognized early in the season that 2020 was going to be difficult and began devising a plan.
He adds that over 60 million people filed for unemployment benefits in 2020 and said this year’s filings could be more challenging. Steber advises not to procrastinate on filing your taxes.
