Intersection closure and temporary water shut off in Alpena

ALPENA, MI. – An upcoming valve replacement may impact your route next week.
Beginning Wednesday, July 6, the intersection of Garden street and Fifth Avenue will be closed to thru traffic.

The following areas will be affected:
Garden St. from Fifth Ave. to Ontario St.
Ontario St. from Brooke St. to Garden St.
On Wednesday, July 6, the intersection of Third Avenue and Garden Street will also be closed to all traffic due to a valve replacement. Additionally, water will be shut off on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from approximately 8:00 AM until approximately 12:00 PM.
The following areas will be affected:
Third Ave. from Brooke St. to Hobbs/Bagley St. Hobbs Dr. (City Side Only) from Third Ave. to Sunset
School.

A water shut off will also start on the sixth from noon to approximately 5pm. Be sure to anticipate your water needs before water is shut off. When water is restored refrain from drinking, doing laundry, washing dishes or food preparation until water runs clear. You will be notified if a boil water is required. This closure is expected to last one day.
