Intersection changes on hold at 2nd Ave and Miller Street

ALPENA-Mich. – The traffic light at the intersection of Second Avenue and Miller Street are on hold for now. The news comes after the Alpena Municipal Council delayed the vote Monday and is requesting additional crash information from City Police Chief Joel Jett.

The traffic light at the intersection was originally a three color light, but according to local residents it was changed to the current light about nine years ago.

Council members are asking the police chief to provide research on accidents at the location from ten years prior to compare crashes from the old light system.
Residents said the current light has been the cause of several serious accidents and crashes over the years.
