Intersection at Ripley Boulevard and Laforest Avenue to close for construction on Tuesday

ALPENA, Mich. — The construction set to take place at the intersection of Ripley Boulevard and LaForest Avenue in Alpena has been postponed until Tuesday.

The construction is part of an ongoing utility project. There will be a water shut off from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, affecting Ripley Boulevard from Mason Street to First Avenue. When water is restored, residents should avoid drinking, doing laundry, washing dishes, or food preparation until it runs clear. A boil water notice could be put into effect.

Drivers can use Grant Street, Oliver Street and First Avenue, but it’s recommended they find alternative routes. The intersection closure is expected to last two days.
