ALPENA, Mich. — The Huron Humane Society kicked off its fur bowl event at the Thunder Bay Lanes Friday evening. Pet lovers were able to not only bowl, but donate to a good cause.
Mary Thruston, Vice President of the Huron Humane Society says, “The Huron Humane Society annual fur bowl is an event that we’ve had for 20 years and is the second biggest fundraiser. It raises money for the homeless, abandoned and neglected animals.” She added, “It is only 12 lanes so we have two sessions and we are giving away prizes and its just a great night for the animals.”
Proceeds from the bowl will go towards the general operating budget. For more information about adopting or becoming a volunteer visit the Huron Humane Society website.
